Chicago Fairmont hotel was redesigned by the Rockwell Group. The main reception area in the lobby features a custom Sensitile Terrazzo Lumina floor and wall that was designed to feel like a water feature but without the water!
The custom pattern on light points was provided by the designers and digitally translated into illuminated light points within the tiles which are on the floor and wall. Due to the requirements of the space, the Terrazzo Lumina is powered by remotely located illuminators that are housed behind the wall and the light is carried within fiber optic cables and brought into the material.
