Steak 'N Shake

          The collaborative team of lighting design firm Atelier Lumiere and retail designers FRCH Worldwide designed this flagship location of the popular Midwestern burger chain "Steak 'N Shake," features a back-lit ceiling canopy of Jali Cascata panels. We developed a special, large-scale version of our award-winning Jali Cascata for this project. After a process of design development and mock-ups, we crafted a special progressive pattern of the panels' internal texture to be denser on one edge and slowly trickle away toward the other edge, to emulate the effect of light dancing on the nearby ocean water.
