Light Filtering
Patterns integral to resin and glass substrates and embedded optical systems in Terrazzo are designed to filter and extend light in a space. Their use in counter-top designs creates distinctive surfaces that are a joyful resonance of color, light and pattern.
Light-filtering materials distribute and maximize ambient and daytime light to create stunning surfaces.
The stone-like surface of PIXA, when used with back-lighting sources, such as video projection or LED displays, is instantly transformed as images and video are conducted through the thickness of the substrate from the opposite side.

We are sometimes commissioned to realize designs that are public art in their own right. Eye-catching dimensionality of a unique form is detailed carefully to perfection by our exceptional team.
While the optical system that manipulates and transmits light is integral to the material, the lighting system that it is paired with is designed for easy accessibility for maintenance and upgrade.
Blackjack
In addition to edge and corner detailing of material, the pairing of a light source with material takes detailing to new heights. The goal is to achieve a result where the source of light is discreet and the user experience is that of disbelief as the material unexpectedly emits light from a seemingly “unknown” source.

Standoffs
Modern and Minimalist standoffs show off the materials used in the design. Specifiable features include color, size and finish.
Shapes
Expert fabrication into 3-D shapes such as waterfalls, finishing of exposed edges, either by polishing or edge-banding and sealing of edges that will be exposed to liquids in the installed environment are available options.
Seams
Careful consideration is given to the placement of seams in early design to allow for a visually “seamless” surface. The choice of a color-matched or optically clear seaming compound and proper installation technique ensures a continuous and timeless counter-top.
Terrazzo seams
Light-emitting counter-tops are detailed in a number of ways to conceal the light source while allowing easy serviceability. Drop-down corner details that are integral to terrazzo slabs or Resin-wrapped corners give the counter-top an elegant finishing touch while at the same time concealing the mill-work and lighting.

Cutouts
Since each slab is individually cast and poured, openings for sinks, faucets, electrical, towel and waste receptacles can be precisely integrated.
Cutouts in resin
Precise fabrication of resin sheets allows for creation of features including cut-outs according to the project requirements.
Polished Edge
Polishing an exposed edge may simply be enough to achieve the final aesthetic.
Edge Banding
Edge banding may be used to match the counter edge to surrounding finishes, to impart a finished look, or to cap a sealed edge for additional protection from spills.
Edge Profiling- Resin
Edge and corner details contribute greatly to the impact of the final design. The versatility of Resin opens up a number of design possibilities.
Edge Profiling-Terrazzo
A monolithic effect can be achieved with integral corner and edge detailing in Terrazzo slabs. This effect is not achievable with natural stone.
